Corrugate Cushioning Material for Sale

We are excited to announce that we’re now offering made in-house accordion cut corrugate cushioning material for sale! Our investment in a new piece of equipment is allowing us to accomplish two wonderful things….to drastically reduce the amount of material heading out the door to our dumpster AND to offer another earth-friendly and affordable cushioning option to our customers. In case you missed it, our made in-house biodegradable starch-based packing peanuts have allowed us to package your orders in a more earth-friendly manner have also been a huge hit with our pick-up customers.

For years, we’ve been trying to divert as much corrugate from heading to the hopper as we could. As a distributor selling less than case quantities of lids and fitments, we end up processing a significant volume of cardboard boxes. We use as many of the stronger boxes as we can in shipping smaller orders, and the less sturdy for those smaller pieces on freight and pick-up orders. Now, we’re also using them to package our cushioning material for you!

With some of our manufacturers pivoting from case packs to bulk for some of our crucial glassware, we find ourselves in a position of re-packing more products in-house; which means so much more clean, but otherwise unusable corrugate for us to process. This is the bulk of what we’re transforming into these two new products with the help of our new equipment.

Our Earth-Friendly Accordion Cut Cushioning Material

Since the primary goal of this effort is to divert this product from the hopper to being functionally useful in an economical manner, there are a few things you should know. Both the flat and the fluffed forms are cut from clean corrugate that we receive in our shipments.

Flat Corrugate Cushioning

Our flat corrugate pre-cushion wrapping material is made of clean post-consumer corrugated cardboard. This product is an excellent option for eco-friendly cushioning for your products. It is completely biodegradable. This product can be wrapped around items, stretched and layered as is, or stretched and layered with tissue paper or light kraft paper for a more upscale look. This style of cushioning is ideal for use in keeping items in place during shipping.

The standard width of the pieces is 13 inches. If a narrower piece is desired, it can easily be torn along the accordion cut. (as shown in the video)

Since this is cut in house with the goal of re-purposing clean cardboard that we cannot use, the lengths of pieces will vary. Pieces will usually be between 2 feet and 6 foot in length.  “Clean” means that there is no tape, no labels, no printing in the product, so it can be composted with confidence when it is no longer needed.

Fluffed Corrugate Fill

Our accordion cut fluffed material is clean post-consumer corrugated cardboard. This product is an excellent option for eco-friendly cushioning for your products and is completely biodegradable. These pieces will be smaller, so they can more easily be pulled apart for use.

Since this is cut in house with the purpose of re-purposing clean cardboard that we cannot use, the lengths of pieces will vary in length and width. For this fluffed form , “clean” means that there is no tape, no labels, no printing in the product, but there may be portions with white on one side. It can be composted with confidence when it is no longer needed.
