Heat Shrink Bands also offer increased customer confidence in your product. They are made of PVC plastic that fits over the top of the neck and closure of your bottle or jar.  These can be used whether your product is processed or not. They are especially helpful for products that do not require a vacuum seal, or a button lid. (Not sure whether you need a button lid or not? See this post.) With correct application, the shrink band must be torn and removed to open the container. Use of shrink bands adds increased confidence to consumers that your product has not been tampered with.

Most Heat Shrink Bands have a vertical perforation for easy removal. Perforation is indicated in the product description along with dimensions. The Cut-length is the height of the shrink band’s profile.

We offer a wide variety of Heat Shrink bands for bottles and jars, from 18mm to 110mm in diameter, and in a variety of colors. We now have heat shrink bands to fit all of our Boston Round Bottles, which are compatible with the phenolic lids in addition to the droppers. If you are unsure of sizing, we have the proper heat shrink bands listed in the “accessories” tab of each relevant container.

Applying Heat Shrink Bands

1. Fill your container with your product and apply the closure (and process if needed).
2. Apply the shrink band over the neck and closure of the bottle or jar.
3. With a heat gun 6 – 12 inches away from your bottle or jar, apply even heat to the shrink band until the band smoothly shrinks around your container/lid. Be careful not to apply too much heat, and to apply it evenly so that you do not disfigure the lid, or cause bubbling of the shrink band or cause the perforations to begin splitting.
