Food Preservation Retreat
June 8, 2019 from 9 AM - 5 PM, at The Livery at Lampeter Cafe, in Lancaster Country PA. (additional details will be provided after class enrollment)
Join us for a one-day retreat focused on home food preservation. An array of regional experts will present on topics including boiling water bath canning, pressure canning, fermentation, troubleshooting your home preserved goods, preserving with natural sweeteners, and making the best possible use of your jars of goodies. The Food Preservation Retreat is suitable for all preserving levels, whether you are a beginner or an experienced home preserver.
The retreat includes a full day of programming, continental breakfast, lunch and a preserving goodie bag for you to take home and enjoy. The registration fee is $95.00. Marisa McCellan of Food in Jars will be an instructor at the retreat and will be on hand all day to answer canning questions. Additional instructors include, Amanda Feifer author of Ferment Your Vegetables, and Martha Zepp from Penn State Extension. Other speakers will be announced as confirmed.
If you need to stock up on preserving cookbooks, now is the time. Add one or more books to your cart and we'll bring them to the Retreat for you. As a bonus, if you buy a presenter's book, you'll be able to have them sign it at the Retreat!
We desire to have a successful class for our participants and the presenters. Any cancellations of class enrollments prior to 5/24/2019 will be subject to a 15% fee. Cancellations after 5/24/2019 will be non-refundable.
