Are we missing a Ball jar that you love? Unfortunately, we can’t carry every single jar from Ball and here’s why:

  • Ball’s entire line is not available to us through our supplier because some of them are ear-marked for non-USA markets.
  • Some items would be duplicates of what we carry in a more economical and/or more versatile version.

We can bring items in as a special order, but that involves a minimum quantity expected in order to do so and a greater lead time. If there is a particular item that you’re interested in, feel free to ask by emailing info@fillmorecontainer.com with the details.

This was no help I want to order my canning lids and rings next month in bulk ,and so far no company has a good price or the amount I need

    • Fillmore Container Posted February 22, 2021 at 9:48 am | Permalink

Hello Carman, As the nation continues to experience shortages in glass packaging and canning lids, the availability will be sporadic. Since we are a top distributor, we continue to get monthly shipments of both Ball Mason Jars and of bulk lids, but the manufacturers are rationing them. This results in higher prices across the board, and continued stocking challenges. Because the demand is so much greater than the supply, you may see some of the volume pricing tiers going away temporarily, to reduce hoarding or price gauging, and to allow those who need them now to get moderate quantities. If you can find some this month, we’d suggest getting them while you have the opportunity.

Do you have a gift shop & if so what are the hours? Can you also give the gift shop address?

    • Fillmore Container Posted May 24, 2021 at 9:51 am | Permalink

Hi Linda, We do not have a gift shop.

Where does your product come from? Where is it manufactured? I keep ordering lids and getting fake knock-offs from China

    • Fillmore Container Posted August 8, 2021 at 8:03 am | Permalink

      Hi Ann,
All of our 2-piece lids are made here in the USA. Most of our glassware is also made here in the USA. Although our manufacturers are USA based, there are a few exceptions where they can’t keep up with demand and have supplemented with offshore ware out of necessity. We identify manufacturers on the product pages.

Does Ball still make golden harvest large drinking glass jar w/handle? If so where can I buy them? PLEASE…
    Thank you, Margaret Nichols

With the latest changes in Ball ownership, and with the recent shortages, we really can’t know if they will make them again. Your best bet is to just google them.

Do you still carry the rubber seals for the antique glass lid jars, the one’s that have the metal clamp over the top? If not, do you know of anyone who might have something comparable? Thank you!

    • Fillmore Container Posted August 23, 2021 at 3:25 pm | Permalink

Hi Lisa, We don’t carry those separate gaskets. Your best bet will be to google them for your choices of online options.

Hi Monica, All of our customers set up their account through our website, which has price tiers posted that would apply to all. With the current supply shortages, some of the price tiers have temporarily been removed.Once an account is created, and you have the appropriate addresses, the system will quote shipping and ETA’s on both ground orders and LTL orders. Truckload orders (generally ranging from 20 – 28 full skids, depending on the density) would be the exceptions.

I’m looking for Ball jars with handles to use for *HOT* tea or *HOT* coffee mugs. The style displayed on your website would work for me, however it specifically states in the description that these handled jars are intended ofr COLD drinks.

Does that mean no heat to the level required for canning, but okay for a hot tea or coffee?

    • Fillmore Container Posted November 10, 2021 at 2:25 pm | Permalink

Hi Nina, This can get a little muddy…you are correct, they are not intended for canning. The most significant risk of temperature related breakage with these (as with most glassware) is from thermal shock. Breakage is likely to happen when the glassware is exposed to a drastic change of temperature. Many people do use these for hot drinks without problems in some situations, but they need to consider the limits of the thermal shock differential. The thermal shock differential is the range of change that glass can generally withstand before experiencing shock and damage. For canning jars, this range is generally 90 degrees Fahrenheit. This is why you can’t place hot canning jars taken from the canner directly onto a marble/tile or other material that is often cool or transfers heat quickly. So, you would likely not have an issue with a hot drink being poured into a room temperature mug, but you could have an issue if you’re hosting outside, or in a cold venue where the jars would be much colder. I hope this helps.

I have many canning materials. What I need most are boxes to store my jars. After many years of use, they break down and fall apart. Is there any way to get new boxes? Or ideas of containers to store my jars in?

    • Fillmore Container Posted December 16, 2021 at 7:41 am | Permalink

Hi Laurie, That’s a common dilemma for serious canners. There isn’t a way to get replacement boxes, however we used to carry a product that was created in direct response to that need. It’s called the JarBox. We no longer carry them, but I believe they may be available.

  12. Evelyn Lemak Posted January 9, 2022 at 10:26 pm | Permalink

I’m looking for boxes with dividers for storing my ball jars. Do you make them or do you recommend where I could find some?

    • Fillmore Container Posted January 10, 2022 at 1:55 pm | Permalink

We used to carry JarBox, but do not carry them any longer. You can probably still find them somewhere online.
