What you need to know about Fillmore Container’s Move

Here is where you will find what you need to know about Fillmore Container’s move. This blog post will be regularly updated with important information about blackout dates, pick-up procedures, and other need-to-know details. It’s almost time to move into our new Fillmore Container facility, which is still located in Lancaster County, PA. This new location is about 10 minutes from our current facility. As we near our official move-in dates in August 2021, please check back often. We will share the address at a more appropriate time,  in order to avoid any possible confusion.

We shared news of our new facility earlier this year. After years of looking for existing real estate, it became clear that if we wanted to operate effectively and remain relatively close to our current location, we would need to build something that best suited our needs. We’ve shared our construction journey in this post  and you can see more updates on the new facility in our Instagram Stories.

Blackout Dates

In order to accommodate our move to the new facility, we will need to pause shipments and pick-ups until systems are online in the new facility. We have planned our move to minimize downtime to 3 days if all goes smoothly, but if this year has taught us anything, it’s that things don’t always go as planned. Therefore, we suggest that you plan your orders assuming that we may not resume operations for up to 2 weeks in mid-August. Please do your best to plan ahead on any upcoming orders so that you have all the products you need prior to our blackout dates.

At this point, the move should begin the first or second week of August. Orders may still be placed through the website during that time, and the ETA generator will reflect blackout dates in the calculation. Confirmation emails will also reflect the extended ETA dates. It is possible (as always) that orders may ship earlier than estimated, so be on the lookout for those tracking emails.

Please monitor your emails for regular updates on specific blackout dates. (Sign up for emails here.) We will continue to update this post as timelines and details are finalized. And as always, we will share timely information on social media.

How Will The New Facility Benefit Customers?

We have always been strongly focused on providing our customers with the absolute best shopping/ordering/shipping experience possible. During the planning and building process, we thought a lot about how we can enhance our customer’s experience.

We will be happy to finally have everything under one roof! Our new facility has the capacity to house our entire inventory. (Previously we had some products in satellite locations.) Because of our new larger facility, we expect our customers will see the following benefits:
  • Increased efficiency & flexibility for filling orders
  • Reduced in-house processing times

This new larger facility will also allow us to purchase products more strategically, which should result in:

  • More competitive pricing
  • Improved product availability
  • Broader offering of products

New Products & Showroom

Yes, we are planning to bring in a variety of new products including, candle vessels, wicks, beverage glassware and other items. In the current sourcing climate, this process has proven more challenging as manufacturers are widely not prepared to supply additional distribution points. New products will likely not be added until we are settled into our new facility. If you have a specific product request, please tell us, we’d love to hear about it!

Please email

  • Include “Product Request” in the subject line.
  • Provide as many specifics as possible – Manufacturer, dimensions, volume, etc.

We recognize the importance of seeing containers and lids in person, so we do plan to eventually have a showroom at the new facility. The showroom will be by appointment only. More details about the showroom and when it will be open, will be available at a later date.

Excited for you! Will the minimum qty change. Im a small business, and im so grateful you guys let me do smaller orders!

Hi Kat, Good question…and the answer is nope! We have no plans of changing minimums at our stage in the process, and are committed to remaining as small-biz friendly as possible. We don’t know how this might eventually change the way things are offered to us (from manufacturers)…as in the nature of how product arrives to our facility. We’ve already been getting some things in pallet tray bulk manners because it was the only way we could get our hands on that item – and with those items, we build boxes and hand pack them. We’re hoping that doesn’t increase, since it’s not as efficient, but we’ll have to wait and see. Best to you!

OMG! I’ve got a jam production run at The Rutgers Food Innovation Center in Bridgeton, NJ on August 26th. Help! My account is Jalma Farms/Alma George I’ll need basically the same quantity of jars & lids as in September 2019.
You folks are the best! I did just place a small order for making small batches until I can get into Rutgers’ 100 gallon kettles. You delivered in less than a week amazing. I do hope your move is as smooth as it can be!
