What you need to know about Fillmore Container’s Move

Here is where you will find what you need to know about Fillmore Container’s move. (*See latest update below.)This blog post will be regularly updated with important information about blackout dates, pick-up procedures, and other need-to-know details. It’s almost time to move into our new Fillmore Container facility, which is still located in Lancaster County, PA. This new location is about 10 minutes from our current facility. As we near our official move-in dates in August 2021, please check back often. We will share the address at a more appropriate time,  in order to avoid any possible confusion.

We shared news of our new facility earlier this year. After years of looking for existing real estate, it became clear that if we wanted to operate effectively and remain relatively close to our current location, we would need to build something that best suited our needs. We’ve shared our construction journey in this post  and you can see more updates on the new facility in our Instagram Stories.

UPDATE AUGUST 24th We are officially in the new space, and are working through the back-log of orders as quickly as we are able. At this point, we are on target to get ground orders out on time; and many of them ahead of time. Be sure to look for your tracking email to see how the earlier shipment impacts your delivery date.  If you NEED to have an order before the indicated ETA,  make sure to choose the RUSH option; which is the only way to guarantee that it will get the urgent attention required.

For Pick-Up Customers: This option was turned back on! Pickup procedures continue as they were before our move.  Orders must be scheduled through the website. Our pick-up zone is larger than before, but it will allow more customers to realize those efficiencies if they pick up during their chosen time slot. Orders will be picked and staged based on the time slot.  OUR NEW LOCATION: 2260 Dairy Rd. Lancaster, PA 17601   **Please be aware that if you just google us, it will still bring up the old address. Google requires several days to update a change of physical location.**

Blackout Dates

In order to accommodate our move to the new facility, we will need to pause shipments and pick-ups until systems are online in the new facility. We have planned our move to minimize downtime to 3 days if all goes smoothly, but if this year has taught us anything, it’s that things don’t always go as planned. Therefore, we suggest that you plan your orders assuming that we may not resume operations for up to 2 weeks in mid-August. Please do your best to plan ahead on any upcoming orders so that you have all the products you need prior to our blackout dates.

At this point, the move should begin the first or second week of August. Orders may still be placed through the website during that time, and the ETA generator will reflect blackout dates in the calculation. Confirmation emails will also reflect the extended ETA dates. It is possible (as always) that orders may ship earlier than estimated, so be on the lookout for those tracking emails.

**We are dismantling some of our equipment today (August 6th) and blackout dates have been added to the website. Please know that we are still (at this point) continuing to ship as many orders out as we’re able before we move those stations and floor stock. This means that most orders placed today and Monday will be heading out early. Be sure to look for your tracking emails to see how that impacts your delivery dates. **

Please monitor your emails for regular updates on specific blackout dates. (Sign up for emails here.) We will continue to update this post as timelines and details are finalized. And as always, we will share timely information on social media.

How Will The New Facility Benefit Customers?

We have always been strongly focused on providing our customers with the absolute best shopping/ordering/shipping experience possible. During the planning and building process, we thought a lot about how we can enhance our customer’s experience.

We will be happy to finally have everything under one roof! Our new facility has the capacity to house our entire inventory. (Previously we had some products in satellite locations.) Because of our new larger facility, we expect our customers will see the following benefits:

  • Increased efficiency & flexibility for filling orders
  • Reduced in-house processing times

This new larger facility will also allow us to purchase products more strategically, which should result in:

  • More competitive pricing
  • Improved product availability
  • Broader offering of products

New Products & Showroom

Yes, we are planning to bring in a variety of new products including, candle vessels, wicks, beverage glassware and other items. In the current sourcing climate, this process has proven more challenging as manufacturers are widely not prepared to supply additional distribution points. New products will likely not be added until we are settled into our new facility. If you have a specific product request, please tell us, we’d love to hear about it!

Please email info@fillmorecontainer.com

  • Include “Product Request” in the subject line.
  • Provide as many specifics as possible – Manufacturer, dimensions, volume, etc.

We recognize the importance of seeing containers and lids in person, so we do plan to eventually have a showroom at the new facility. The showroom will be by appointment only. More details about the showroom and when it will be open, will be available at a later date.

Excited for you! Will the minimum qty change. Im a small business, and im so grateful you guys let me do smaller orders!

    • Fillmore Container Posted July 17, 2021 at 12:22 pm | Permalink

Hi Kat, Good question…and the answer is nope! We have no plans of changing minimums at our stage in the process, and are committed to remaining as small-biz friendly as possible. We don’t know how this might eventually change the way things are offered to us (from manufacturers)…as in the nature of how product arrives to our facility. We’ve already been getting some things in pallet tray bulk manners because it was the only way we could get our hands on that item – and with those items, we build boxes and hand pack them. We’re hoping that doesn’t increase, since it’s not as efficient, but we’ll have to wait and see. Best to you!

OMG! I’ve got a jam production run at The Rutgers Food Innovation Center in Bridgeton, NJ on August 26th. Help! My account is Jalma Farms/Alma George I’ll need basically the same quantity of jars & lids as in September 2019.
You folks are the best! I did just place a small order for making small batches until I can get into Rutgers’ 100 gallon kettles. You delivered in less than a week amazing. I do hope your move is as smooth as it can be!

Congratulations ! We will be moving at the same time! We have far less pallets to move than you though, we do have one inbound pallet of wax just in case.
    So excited for you!

I am reading your blogs and don’t seem to locate the address of your new location. What is the address?

    • Fillmore Container Posted August 14, 2021 at 3:14 pm | Permalink

Hi Bern, We’ve intentionally left that piece of info out in order to avoid confusion as to where customers will pick up their orders, since we don’t know exactly when the operational change of location will actually happen. New construction and moving is a challenge in a normal year, but this year has been full of delays and unexpected changes, regardless of the intense amount of planning. 🙂 It’s about 10 minutes from our current location.

Will you consider doing a virtual showroom in the forseeable future? I live in the Midwest and it is not possible to come to your showroom.. Thanks and Congrats on a growing and profitable future!

    • Fillmore Container Posted August 16, 2021 at 8:04 am | Permalink

We may eventually do a virtual tour of the showroom, but every single item we carry is also on our website. We’re working on getting images that would show families of jars/bottles in one image to make it easier to see how they would work for a line of product.

    Good morning Fillmore container,
I & my wife likes your products and speedy delivery over the pass times.
I see that the 38-2000 white button lug lid is out of stock. Do you have a date when the lids will be available?

Thank you all at Fillmore Containers for excellent products and shipping speed.
May you all have a very blessed day…………………..Ken & Beverly

      Hello Millers,
We certainly appreciate your continued support! The best way to find out if we have a lead time on a particular item is to email info@fillmorecontainer.com Unfortunately, we do not have ETA’s on all items, and many of them are very far out.

This says that you have moved into the new space. What is the new pick up location?

    • Fillmore Container Posted August 27, 2021 at 10:31 am | Permalink

Hi Wendy, It is 2260 Dairy Road Lancaster PA 17601. Google requires several days to change a physical address, so we’re having to rely on the blog post update and all of our social platforms. 🙂 Other than the location, pick-up procedures are basically the same. There is still construction activity on site. You can see images of our entrance and where to go on our Instagram Highlights under NEW Site.
