The holiday season is upon us, and like you, we are searching for creative gift ideas for friends and family on our list.
We’ve been making these lovely Mason Jar Lanterns for years. We thought, why not deck them out for the holidays and give them as gifts. You can also personalize them with an item that reflects who the lantern is for.
Here’s ‘how to’ make these lovely lanterns.

Congratulations to commenter – DK “Chelsey” the luck winner of a wick Kit. Can’t wait to see how your Mason jar lanterns turn out.
I love Filmore!!! and I said so when I shared your blog post :o) )
I’ve got a jar full of seaglass that would be beautiful on a lamp like this, can’t wait to see the creative ideas everybody else has!
Oh, it will be! There’s something beautiful that happens when the paraffin covers the sea glass… the chalky so away and the colors are illuminated!

I would use the Mason Jug Jars (pint) & fill them with mini ornaments. For Halloween I would fill them with cheesecloth & black plastic spiders 🙂

I would use one of my old blue jars and fill it with winter pine greens or cedar and red berries for winter, or cinnamon sticks and star anise. love this idea .
Cranberries and Christmas greens 🙂

I would likely make these lamps from some antique jars that I have gotten hold of over the year. That way, I don’t have to worry that they will be accidentally given away as gifts of food or “loaned” out. Then I could buy more jars from Fillmore Containers for day to day use!

I like the irregular jars and OLD ones.
I am a glass “junkie.” I think I would use my scrap glass and beads that didn’t quite turn out the way I want and add some tinsel-like material to make it all sparkle. This would suit me just fine!
P.S.: I would definitely use a quilted crystal jar to add pizzazz!
blog shared!
Of course already “liked” on FB. Now posted on my Pinterest
I’d fill it with fall leaves 🙂

I would fill my jar more than likely a Ball Jar with Sea Shells. They would look so pretty.
I Liked The Fillmore Containers On Face Book.
I have a ton of beads that I don’t want to use for jewelry that I would love to put in a quart wide mouth jar with oil!

I really liked the jar in the tutorial with the pebbles in it. My daughter collects rocks, so this would be a good way to “contain” and display them!

I have some old jars (60+ yrs old) that were in a basement that had some seep water. I don’t want to use them for canning edibles, but have some old buttons that I could put in them.
I would fill the jar with cranberries, small pinecones and cinnamon sticks for a nice wintery lamp and of course would use mason jars from Fillmore Container!

If I won, I would fill my jar with cranberries for the holidays! Already LIKED Fillmore on FB and shared this blog on FB too. 🙂
I would use this idea for making unique birthday gifts during the year. I think I would like to use the square jars.
Posted to Facebook, LIKED, and added again to Pinterest.
I was just recently given an OLD mason jar. It would be lovely made into a lantern like this. I might fill it with some tiny pinecones and cinnamon sticks.
I think a trio of jars, maybe a tall pint and a half, a regular pint and a jelly jar grouped together and filled with pinecones and berries would be lovely.
I really loved the sea glass idea that someone posted! How awesome would that look?
