We are big fans of Mason Jar Meals, so who better for us to team up with than the queen of Mason Jar Meals – Robin Sue, of Big Red Kitchen! Mason Jar Meals, or MJMs, became a way of life for Robin Sue (aka the Masonator) and her family after she discovered it was a creative way to eat healthy, fresh food on the go. Robin Sue shares her Mason-meal genius on her blog, Big Red Kitchen, making it the place to go for tips, how-tos, recipes, and all things MJMs.
We put our heads together and came up with a pretty exciting giveaway – the Big Red Kitchen Mason Jar Meal Starter Kit, a customized kit to help you dive into the world of MJMs. The kit is complete with an array of jars and a new cookbook all about MJMs: “Glass is in Session – Back to School Mason Jar Meals” written by Robin Sue from Big Red Kitchen.
If you haven’t tried a Mason Jar Meal yet, here’s Big Red Kitchen’s official definition:
“Mason Jar Meals are designed for busy singles, couples, and families who are looking for creative and healthy meals to be made ahead of time for fresh eating on the go. They are designed to store in the refrigerator and eaten within 3-5 days or stored in the freezer up to 3 months.”
We tried a number of BRK’s recipes, and since we are from Lancaster, PA, our favorite MJM treat had to be the BRK Whoopie Pies.
The Big Red Kitchen Mason Jar Meal Starter Kits will include …
1. A unique Mason jar collection of multisize jars to get you started in building your own MJMs, provided by Fillmore Container. The kit will include the following jars:
2. The kit will also include Big Red Kitchen’s new cookbook “Glass is in Session – Back to School Mason Jar Meals” provided by Robin Sue, of Big Red Kitchen. The book is a collection of 17 of her favorite Mason Jar Meals recipes and includes MJM FAQs; many tips, including how many jars you should own, and how to label, wash, and care for your jars; and many more MJM ideas.
